On Friday, November 8th, at 5:30 p.m., we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of our master’s degree's in Video Games and Animation with a very special event at the Auditorium of the Edifici Vèrtex on the Campus Nord UPC.
There is no better way to celebrate these two decades than by remembering the talent that has passed through the master’s classrooms. Two of our alumni will share their professional experiences. We will have the pleasure of hearing about their journey from finishing the master’s program to building a successful international career in video games and animation.
As every year, the students from the latest edition will present their final video game, a spectacular result after an intense year of work.
This event will be held in English.
Event program:
- 17:30 h - 17:40 h. Welcome. By Jesús Alonso, academic director of the master’s degree in Advanced Programming for AAA Video Games and the master’s degree in Animation & Digital Arts for AAA Video Games.
- 17:40 h - 18:20 h: Conference: "Environment Art Production for AAA Games". By Ferran Adzarà Hernández, Senior Environment Artist at Starbreeze Entertainment (Sweden).
Since his childhood, Ferran has always been surrounded by art, music, cinema, and games. After playing games like Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, he knew for sure that he wanted to be an artist. He has worked on games such as Sniper Elite III (Rebellion, Oxford), Homefront: The Revolution (Deep Silver Dambuster Studios, Nottingham), Asphalt 9 (Gameloft Barcelona), and Afterpulse (Digital Legends Entertainment, Barcelona). After this period, he had a great opportunity at MindArk in Sweden, where he was promoted to lead artist. This experience significantly impacted his ability to acquire interpersonal leadership and mentorship skills for the entire art team. Currently, as a senior artist at Starbreeze Entertainment, he strives to elevate the level of artistic quality every day by learning new and unexplored styles, which he finds both exciting and challenging.
- 18:20 h - 19:00 h: Conference: “From Classroom to Arrakis: Gameplay Development in 'Dune Awakening'”. By Ricard Vivó Montero, Gameplay Programmer at Funcom (Norway).

Now, he feels honored to contribute to this in Dune Awakening as a programmer, in this incredible production inspired by the award-winning film created by Denis Villeneuve and Legendary. The game transports you to a war-torn Arrakis, where you must survive and fight for control of the spice alongside hundreds of players.
