TRAINING ACTIONS: Companies have a yearly credit to co-finance training for their workers, based on the taking from the quotas for Professional Training during the previous year. This credit is calculated on the bases of applying a bonus percentage to this quantity that is set out in the Spanish General Budget Act and depends on the number of employees working in the company. This credit becomes effective through bonuses to Social Security contributions, meaning the company can deduct training costs from the social security contributions it pays. INDIVIDUAL
LEARNING PERMIT (PIF): Companies may also authorise Individual Learning Permits (PIF) for workers who apply to follow a course leading to obtaining a university degree. In this case, companies can apply for a bonus to cover salary costs (base salary, seniority, fixed complements and the proportional amount of bonus payments) and payments to the Social Security linked to the working hours (maximum 200 hours) when the worker is using their PIF.
Beneficiaries:
Any company contributing to the Social Security that is up-to-date in all its tax obligations having work centres in Spanish territory.
Requirements:
Application deadline:
The bonus credit expires every year whether it is used or not. Training must take place entirely in a natural year; meaning it must be completed and notified by the 31st of December. Notifications of the start and end of training are done electronically to the Fundación Estatal para la Formación en el Empleo (Fundae) and this bonus can be made effective using the TC forms; meaning until the last TC of the year is submitted on the 31st of January of the following year.
